Godparents

This past weekend Aunt Romina and Uncle Craig flew up from Chicago to meet baby Marcus.  We had a great time, as you could tell from the video I posted a few days ago.  Romina and Craig are both incredibly creative and tech savvy, I have a feeling there will be many more videos where that came from!

Also, Romina and Craig agreed to be Marcus's Godparents.  Craig assumed his new responsibility by donning a "Godfather Tracksuit".

First Bath

This is a bit delayed (I am much slower downloading pics I take on my actual camera vs. my phone).  Here are some pictures from Marcus's first bath.  He HATED it, I think it was a bit too wet and cold for his liking.  However, his hippo towel was adorable, especially once he calmed down a little.

Bye Bye Grandma

Grandma Monica left yesterday afternoon. Marcus and I are very sad. We loved the help (me) and the cuddles (Marcus), hopefully she can make it back out here soon!

Sick Baby

Poor Marcus. Yesterday morning we all woke up to find Marcus with an insane amount of discharge in his eyes. At the advisement of our pediatric nurse line, we took him into urgent care. After a quick but excruciating (for mom) examination, the doctor found that Marcus had a double ear infection and an eye infection.

I was a complete mess upon hearing this, it's indescribable how horrible it feels to know your kid is sick. Luckily, he has been taking his oral antibiotic and eye gel now for a full day and seems to be doing better already! The eyes are clearing up, and as for the ear infection, well, he never really cried or fussed at all, so we will assume that is clearing up as well!

A Week Ago Today

It's hard to believe that a week ago today I was in total agony. As I write this post, I remember that at this exact moment last week I was 20 minutes away from my epidural (aka the best thing ever invented).

Luckily, this week things are looking up. Check out what I get to look at now, it's even better than the epidural!

Meet the Grandparents

Marcus got to meet Grandma and Grandpa Tonucci yesterday. My parents made the long drive up from Michigan to meet our little guy and my mom is staying for a week to help me, as Todd heads back to work this week. She has been a godsend. I feel so blessed to have Marcus and my family!

Hey I'm 3 Days Old!

Here are some pictures from Marcus's 3rd day in the world, and his first day at home all day with me and Todd.

We learned that he loves the Snuggle Bunny bouncing chair (even slept in it for part of the night - hallelujah!), and he loves the pacifier. That's right, Todd and I broke down and gave it to him. He is still nursing like a champ, and all 3 of us are much happier this way.

Getting into the car seat was a bit of an ordeal, someone was not a happy camper. But riding along on the highway was blissful. Also, to "pacify" the stop signs, Marcus was soothed by my new mommy trick of the old "finger pacifier" - thank you nurses at Methodists!

Baby Marcus is Here!

Labor was no joke, but it was all worth it.

Weighing in at 7lbs and measuring 21 inches, Marcus Robert Sarbaugh entered the world on April 11th at 7:12am.

Happy Easter & 40+ Weeks!

Oh man, will this baby ever come out? Of course I know he will, but it truly is tough to see your due date come and go, with no progress to report.

We are slotted for an induction on Saturday the 14th if Super Tiny does not come on his own. I am hoping that he comes before then, as the idea of getting induced is not very appealing, unless of course, it's medically necessary.

Enough whining, for Easter Todd and I decided to do a little brunch date to Tilia (super delicious) and are planning on a long walk around Lake Nokomis this afternoon. We are going to make the most of our final baby-free Sunday!

Big Weekend Plans

This past weekend was the first official "no plans" weekend for Todd and me. Of course I was super antsy, being the busybody that I am. So what did I do? Well allow me to share.....

First, I made some cinnamon rolls.....



Then, on the tip of a wise coworker, I prepared "goody basket" for the nurses to ensure great service :)



Finally, I bought a baby fedora and practiced my swaddling skills!
